Dear, I am new to the forum and FreeNAS, we have installed FreeNAS-9.2.1.8 version. We have created user groups and users belonging to these groups, create folders and everything, everything works fine; but we want to give one user eg 30Gb of space, a user two 80Gb and so susesivamente.

There a way to limit their storage space on disk ?.

I hope any help or suggestions,

Best Regards

I don't know if you can set a quota (storage limit) for a user. However, you can set a quota for a dataset. So you can set the quota for that user's dataset, OR, if there are multiple datasets for that user, each one, OR, you could have a parent datset for the user, set the quota for that, and have child datasets within it that don't have a quota.

I don't know if it's the same in your version, but in 9.3 you do this by going to Storage > Volumes > View Volumes, so you see the volumes with all their datasets. Click on one you want to set a quota for. Then you find Edit Options with a tool icon at the bottom of the screen. In that dialog, click Advanced Mode, and enter it in the field labeled "Quota for this dataset and all children:".
