Hi. newbye here. I know storage and raid phisical system and I know raid can be set by different hdd size (somecase) but a lage one is used like the smaller one.... I just have a dream and i'd like to ask if there is some way to realize this:
if i have, for example ... 4 hdd 80GB and 2 hdd 1TB... normally i could make a raid 5 with 4 80gb hdd (total 240GB) and a r1 with 2 1tbhdd for a volume of 1tb.
But... would it be possible to use hdds to have a r5 with 6 80gb (taking 80gb from each one of 1tb hdd) for a r5 400GB and a r1 realized with the remaing 920GB taken from 1TB hdds?

can zfs use different hdds sized to realize a real versality volume configuration???

Possible, yes, but you'd have to do it from the CLI. Would not recommend.
