I boot from the usb installer, get Truenas installed on either an internal non-hba drive, or on a drive on the hba. Tried SSDs of 120GB and 1TB. Install always goes fine, when I reboot, right after POST, I get "boot error". Thoughts or suggestions?

Oh, and I've swapped BIOS settings for UEFI vs BIOS... seems to make no difference.

I think I see the problem. While the SSD is recognized during installation, it's not recognized by the BIOS of the R710. I've got the SSD mounted inside of the case, not using the backplane, using the extra SATA port next to where the DVD drive plugs in. I'll need to figure out how to get the R710 to see the SSD and let me boot from it.

Dell is notorious for disabling or hobbling "extra" ports. The R510 in its 12 bay configuration has all of its internal SATA ports disabled entirely....
