Hi Everyone, I wanted to run my current issue as a new Freenas user and experiencing a Degraded Status for the first time. It looks like even though the Drives are Brand New (Retail) one is failing!!

Any input would be appreciate.

HDDs fail on a bathtub curb, i.e. they're more likely to fail early on in their lifetime or after several years.

Do you have any irreplacable data on the pool?

If the answer is yes to the above question then, do you have said data backed up?

All the data on the drive seem to be fine, I only have about 1TB on it since it's a new setup.

Is the data important or irreplaceable though?

If you have anything on the pool that you care about, then your first order of buisness should be to back it up ASAP.

Is the data important or irreplaceable though?

If you have anything on the pool that you care about, then your first order of buisness should be to back it up ASAP.

Yes I did that this morning. I also have a Spare drive for the NAS incase this day would come, just didn't expect it so early, heh. So next based on the LOGS it's def a failed drive you think?

It looks like even though the Drives are Brand New (Retail) one is failing!!
One year I would not consider brand new. The SMART Attributes look good while the SMART Extended Comprehensive Error Log shows one error. But it seems you've never run a long smart test, this is something you should really change.
