Here is my Free configuration:
Hardware: Lenovo TS140
HardDrive: 4 3TB 7200RPM HGST NAS
RAID: RAIDZ2
RAM: 20GB ECC
Router: Centurylink Actiontec C1000A
Network Cable: CAT6
DataSet : Compression Level - Inherit lz4
Share Type: UNIX
Enable atime: Inherit
ZFS Deduplication: Inherit(off)
Ethernet Status from ifconfig: Ethernet 10Gbase-T (10Gbase-T <full-duplex>)

Test of my dd:
dd if=/dev/zero of=AVSEQ02.DAT bs=8192k count=1000
1000+0 records in
1000+0 records out
8388608000 bytes transferred in 1.907810 secs (4396982991 bytes/sec)

Another windows desktop wired into the router is Windows 8 machine which has 100Mbps speed. Data transfer to these two machine is between 1-2 MBps.

Data transfer speed between wireless laptop and FreeNas is also same speed.

Data transfer speed between wired laptop and wired windows 8 machine is about 12MBps.

Any suggestions?

you have something in your network that is only 100mb/s and not 1000mb/s. When you say 12Mbps I think what you mean is 12MB/s and if that is the case then you definitely have something working at non gigabit speeds.
