Hi,
I wasn't paying attention to the capacity on my zvol (for a iSCSI target) and its reached 91%. I hastely deleted a large number of files, but I don't know how to "shrink" the zvol back to an acceptable size. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have snapshots as well? If so delete those.

Is the capacity back down below 90% ? If so and the system is still running in optimized (slow) mode, I think you need to reboot so the system returns to normal mode of operation. I wish I could remember if that is a factual statement.

No, there hasn't been any change in the capacity. It's still at 91%. I restarted the system (resulting in no change), and then I shut down the system for five minutes (also no change). But, "My Computer" is showing 8.34 TB free of 19.9 TB.

Can you post the output of 'zpool status', and are you reading directly from the volume manager, you're not referring to just an alert right?

Also, for the record, have an iSCSI zvol at 91% is definitely a code red emergency. Don't let that happen again ;)
