Greetings from a new newbie. Looks like a great site. Have a Super Micro 24 X 4 TB drives, SAS9211-8i. I can talk to all 24 drives. What I am unable to do from what I have seen so far, is to put them into a raid. Device-HGST then drive info then at right Drive Info - SAS. I can change everything, have yet to find making how to group. What am I missing? Appreciate your help! End of the day, thinking Raid 10.
Thanks

When you say you "can talk to all 24 drives", is that from the controller, FreeNAS or ???

Did you flash your HBA to IT mode?

Can you see the individual drives in Volume Manager? In volume manager - http://doc.freenas.org/11/storage.html#volume-manager you should be able to use the wheel gizmo to create your volume.

With ZFS, striped mirrors are similar to RAID10.

RAID at what level?

ZFS likes to have control of the disks so it's best to put the RAID card into JBOD mode.
