CPU usage spike every 5 minutes on the dot.

I run a few websites off of a windows are to IIS 6, as well as run my home backup using Microsoft SyncToy 2.1 to a few windows shares. My usual daily TX/RX combined is less than 250MB.

Looking on the Reporting Tab I scroll down to the CPU usage graph and I see that there is a spike to 25% CPU usage every 5 minutes on the dot.

Any thoughts on what my little box is doing? and/or a way to look to see what process is using causing the CPU spike?

It's probably the reporting process gathering info.

Ahh, I guess that makes sense. It's not the fanciest box in the world, but I thought it a little odd that anything would need that much processing power for just reporting. I'll dive into some logs I suppose and go from there.

you can login to the console (or enable ssh and ssh in) and run top. sort by cpu and then watch and see what floats to the top.
