Converting from Open Media Vault

So I'm looking at FreeNAS and wondering if I decide to move my Open Media Vault systems to FreeNAS if I can just swap out the USB boot device, install freenas and import or add my existing file system? Any other problems or considerations making the move?

Since OMV doesn't do ZFS and FreeNAS only does ZFS, you will need some additional disk to work with during the transition (you can possibly import the existing disk contents, but it's not an in-place conversion and needs to import/copy to a ZFS pool)
