I'm trying to figure a storage solution, and hopefully this is the right place to ask... If not, just point me in the right directions.
I have a desktop that I'm currently not using, and was hoping to use it as a place to back up files, but I was also hoping to integrate it into my home theater through my receiver. Is it possible to do this with one machine, run FreeNAS & Windows? From a quick look around, its seeming like the answer is probably no, but this is my first foray into this kind of a project. The pc has, at the moment, 2 hard drives (a 120gb, and a 500gb), and I'd really just like to rig it so that my wife & I have someplace to put extra files like pictures and music, I don't really need to stream or torrent.
Is this something that FreeNAS can do? Or does anyone know what options I might have?
