colocation server

I was looking at cheap low power server to bring to a hosting center to put the server on their rack and pay them per amp usage. I'm a very casual user but I also have horrible internet. Comcast upload speed are getting slower if you can believe that. I get like 250 mbps down but 10 upload. I use freenas mostly for file server, occasional VM and plex. but I do use remote access a lot. Should I be worried about copyright issues by downloading the occasional big bang theory or box office movie? I'm worried bring bringing my server to a datacenter which could be snooped on. but my $100 internet that gets me 10 upload isn't cutting it.

Yes... if you download copyrighted material, the colo facility will, sooner or later, receive a notice, which they will then forward on to you.
