Hi,

New FreeNas user.

Can't get the CIFS sharing to work properly. The share works only if I allow guests. Then I can connect and read/write files. But NOT with my username. Not with any username.
Tested on XP, Win7 and a Mac.

I have set up a username, "johan". Also a group called "johan".
Changed permission of the Volume to "owner" = "johan", "owner group" = "johan"
In mode "unix", I can set R/W/E on both owner, group and other wihtout problem.
Setting the mode to Windows, mode will be R/W/E for owner and only R/E for group and Other.
Changing this to R/W/E and clicking change, does not work. Still R/E for group and other. Is this a bug??
Set up a CIFS share with name "Test1", without guest access.
I can access the freenas in Windows, but clicking on "Test1" requires name and password. And none of my user accounts work here. WRONG username or password (both in Windows and Mac)
Setting guest access to "Test1", I can access "Test1" in windows.

I have tired serveral times. What the h*** is wrong? Am I missing something important?

Using the latest FreeNAS beta right now. Used the latest relase version until a few hours ago. No luck, still not working with the beta.

Edit: I have read the http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Windows_(CIFS)_Shares about how to setup. Done exactly so. Does not work. Wrong username/password.
