I work for a video production company and we are trying to figure out how to quickly transfer files between a few computers. Our current solution is a standard NAS running over a gigabit connection, meaning we can only write and read at about 100megabytes a second. We're finding this a big bottleneck when it comes to moving around projects that are 100gb + between computers.

Upgrading to 10gigabit is a too expensive option so we are currently looking at cheaper ways to quickly boost our speeds. A current suggestion is to use an external usb c enclosure full of ssds connected through a usb c switch to the computers however this means that we can only have one computer connected to the drive at once.

If anyone has any better suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Only if you buy new gear. You need to see this:

I know it is talking about a home network, but it is equally applicable to a business. Just don't get roped into building your own switch. There are plenty of great ones available on eBay. I just got one for $125 and another member picked one up for just $100 that had even more 10Gb ports than mine.

Don't do that.
How many systems do you want to connect at 10Gb speed? There are people here that can advise you.
