I want to change the DNS of my plex jail. Can I do that just be editing the /etc/resolve.conf in the jail? Currently I have
search fios-router.home.
nameserver 192.168.1.1

Can I remove those two lines and replace them with
nameserver XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
nameserver YYY.YYY.YYY.YYY

to change my DNS have have everything work like normal?

I understand the dangers of changing your DNS, so I'm trying to limit the scope of the DNS changes. I obviously don't want to do it globally via my router, but am wondering what would happen if I did it to my main FreeNAS setttings. FreeNAS really doesn't route anything outside of the LAN, that's what the plex jail is for... so does it matter if I do it in the jail settings or the FreeNAS settings?

Thanks

You can change your resolv.conf in the jail as you suggest. That will change the DNS resolution for that jail. Should not be a problem.

Thanks, for the confirmation. Already had one error as far as the plex server going down and not being found but I think it was a problem with me trying to access the channel twice...
