Can't write to NFS Store with VSphere 5.5

I have created an NFS store on my 9.2.1 box. Not set to read only.
Have mounted on VMWare as NFS storage, but cannot write to it (datastore browser /create folder).
What am I missing?

Check your maproot and mapall settings under the NFS share itself - which user is listed?

If you can connect to the mount point but not write files I suspect that's the issue.

No - gave up and removed the NFS store and replaced with iSCSI.
That then worked.
I think this is one of the bugs squished in 9.2.1.2?

for NFS; check all of your export settings. (if you haven't already done that)

NFS works for me with 9.2.1.2 and 5.5.0

as above HoneyBadger is right with his suspicion.
you only need to enable nfs and share a folder. vsphere 5.5 can only use NFSv3 and can only use the user 'root' to connect (can't configure otherwise). So you need to configure no_root_squash, which essentially you do with the mapping.

in the setting of your nfs share "Maproot User" select "root" (default is N/A)
