hi all recently built my new server running newest version of freenas.
im new to freenas!
Z871-PRO motherboard supports raid 0 1 5 10
i created raid 5 volume purely because it allowed me 8tb of storage
iv got 4 3tb harddrives
core i5
16gig ram
1 ssd drive

when i tried to add new volume it only sees my drives as individual 3tb drives??
am i missing something here?
suggestions?
alternatives?
cheers guys.

Because your motherboard doesn't offer a real hardware raid. That's what we like to call fakeraid.

You have some reading to do because it is expressed many many times that you shouldn't run freenas on top of a raid setup.
