Hi to everyone,

I just install Freenas. I can see it in my desktop [I install FreeNAS in parallels] but in my laptop I can´t see it. I have both computer connected with Wirless

Server:
iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
12GB 1333 MHz DD3
ADM Radeon HD 6770 512MB
OSX: 10.7.2

I got this ip: 10.211.55.6
but here in my home my ip address are: 192.168.2.x
How could i access my NAS from any other computer inside my LAN?

CIFS is a broadcast protocol, you must be in the same network to see the shares, or enter using the ip address directly...

the easyest way is to change network configuration of parallel, I dont know parallels, so I cant tell you what you exactly need to do.

Yes I know XD. But i think that parallels are creating a new network inside my virtual computers. And if I bridge the connection so it could give me a normal IP address it appears 0.0.0.0 I but both 1 its 0.0.0.0 the other one the 10.211.55.6

this could be because I got the wireless and no ethernet?

Sorry for two pos I found something that maybe the problem

: If you are using a wireless connection on your Mac and a Bridged network in the virtual machine, make sure that your Wi-Fi router (e.g. Airport Extreme, Time capsule, etc.) is not configured to provide Wi-Fi access by a MAC address.

I search and found nothing I got an ARRIS

if you bridge the virtual network you need to have a DHCP server in your lan in order to automatically get an IP. Otherwise you need to manually assign a IP to your nas via console.

I run FreeNAS on VMware on a periodic basis to test things out. If you set things up with bridged networking, yes you'll have to jump through the hoops that dannyb78 discusses.

If you're filtering by MAC address on your wireless AP, then yes that can be a problem if it's not whitelisted on the AP (but you'll run into that issue regardless of what VM you add to the network).

More info would have been helpful for debugging the issue, but it sounds like you've already worked through the problem..
