If that's the card with a bunch of port multipliers connected to a 88SE9485, that is really, really, REALLY not recommended. Please see

But I think they also had one that was a bunch of AHCI controllers behind a bridge of some sort. That might work okay. These are generally VERY old controllers and while Linux should have support for them, I'm pretty sure FreeBSD needed some tweaking to get them to show up at all.
