I am running Freenas 9.10. It takes hours to boot complaining Highpoint 750 hptnr: Device request timeout and wont detect all drives (this happen continuously). From my understanding this is due to a communication issue. From my research 9.10 already has the latest drivers. I have also manually installed them. I have tried 6 different back planes 3 different cables, 9 different hard drives and 2 highpoint 750's. I don't know where to go from here....

Simple. Get a different controller. There's a reason highpoints are considered crap around here.

Certainly not with FreeNAS they don't. The hardware could be the best ever made (highly doubtful), but it's going nowhere without a driver to match.

That specific model was given a chance and it was a failure, though not as spectacular as older cards. Maybe there is hope for future models.
