1. ping 127.0.0.1
2. run ifconfig -a
3. ping your local address(s)
4. run netstat -r
5. ping the gateway ip address
6. cat /etc/resolv.conf
7. ping each ip address next to "nameserver"

Compare the settings from above to those listed in your network summary tab, and compare those to what you believe they should be.
networking 101! awesome post.

Could be an ID-10T error.

Did you try testing if the FN server interface can get out, like I had said before, try pinging from the FN console (option 9 as I renember)?
I know its not an ID-10T error (I use that on some of my employees)
I did try ping from the FN to the router it did not work.

1. ping 127.0.0.1
2. run ifconfig -a
3. ping your local address(s)
4. run netstat -r
5. ping the gateway ip address
6. cat /etc/resolv.conf
7. ping each ip address next to "nameserver"

Compare the settings from above to those listed in your network summary tab, and compare those to what you believe they should be.

1. forgot to ping the loopback
2. all of the setting are correct
3. destination unreachable

I tried the NIC in a different server and the NIC worked
I tried it using the same cable and same port.

The problem is on layer 1 or 2 in the FN server

Like I said I will clear the ARP tables once I get home. If that doesn't work I will go with a new install and then update it.

Just a little dig, no offense :D. Hopefully dd'ing a new usb will resolve your issue.

I want to try to avoid using a different usb but if I do can I use the newest version or will I have to use the same version and then upgrade?

Or just reconfigure the network settings from the console (option 1).

I was checking the system log when I found out what the problem was. I saw something about smartd not starting in the log. So I checked to see if it was running. And that is when it hit me. The problem is do to insufficient memory and PEBCAK

I remembered a while ago I bonded the NICs but it appears that it was not saved. Sorry for wasting your time but also thank you for helping me out.
