Well, Solaris 11.4 can but we're all on FreeBSD so have to wait until that is put into the base O/S for all those like me messed up:

1. Have an active pool you want to expand
2. Have added 2 drives and rebooted
3. Went to cli and did a zpool command believing zpool and pool are buddies but they are not.

Anyway we got stuck with a mirror of the pool instead of adding to the pool and get told never use CLI while there are many good cases of using CLI.

I don't know what a zdev is, but top-level vdev removal is in FreeNAS today, as long as your pool consists only of mirror or single-disk vdevs. If your pool is, as it looks like in your .sig, six disks in RAIDZ2 plus two mirrored, you're SOL.

Using CLI rather than GUI is usually a good recipe for disaster. In this case, anyway, there is no way to extend an 6-wide raidz2 into an 8-wide raidz2, as I assume you intended. Get more drives to temporarily save your data to, delete the pool, create a new pool as desired and restore.
