Hello,

I have been trying to figure out an issue I have been having lately with what I originally thought was permissions related.

I have a system in use for months, it's on a closed network on a 192.168.0.range. I had simple User group permissions set up and working fine.

However all the sudden the user cannot mount shares, they can ping the unit, and we can SSH in, but nothing will mount SMB, neither by hostname or static IP.

we are at a loss. I have done everything I can think of, even reset and mounted the share with a fresh user and group, with new permissions,I still cannot mount SMB..

I thought is was 11.3, so I rolled back and now at least I don't have ACLs to play with, But I still cannot get in. here is the error I got last time.

NASHOSTNAME smbd: dnssd_clientstub ConnectToServer: connect () -> No of tries:1 is it as simple as the system will not resolve without a name server? how can that make sense if we are using a static IP?
