Hi there,

New to form and to freenas.

After a reboot on freenas I could not access to volume it says that Error getting total space.

I went to console and I get the following:

zpool status
no pool available

zpool list
no dataset available

tried
camcontrol devlist

And I can see disk WD

Although I cannot do the following:

zpool create ( to create a new pool and try to import disk)

zpool import -D (it becomes to command prompt)

I made a command don't remember

/dev/ufs/FreeNASs1
/dev/ufs/FreeNASs2
/dev/ufs/FreeNASs3
/dev/ufs/FreeNASs4

I could found gptid.

Is it possible to mount the disk to copy the information and then try to recreate everything again ?
Or is it possible to recreate pool to import volume ?

Thanks in advanced

Hardware? FreeNAS version? Pool configuration? You did read the forum rules, right? They're a red link at the top of the page, in case you missed them when you signed up.

Not helpful in the slightest. There's so many possible combinations of hardware that's like saying "My car is a Ford".

"Dell Workstation 490" is a start. What CPU, how much RAM? How many drives, what size, and how did you have your pool set up? Did you use ZFS at all? Which exact 9.2 version?

Hi there,

Thanks once again

uname -a
FreeBSD freenas.local 9.2-RELEASE-p4

Dell Workstation 490
CPU Intel Xeon E5320 1,86 GHZ
4Gb RAM

Two disks
One Seagate 1TB ST380815AS 3.ADA
One WDC WD2oEARS-00MVWB0 51.0AB51

SATA Controller
Intel 631xESB/632xESB/3100 SATA IDE Controller.

I have used zfs, there is no need to build volume if I could mount the disk and copy data inside I could manage and make everything new.

Thanks in advanced.

That could be a problem. 8GB RAM is the stated minimum requirement. And it needs to be ECC, which you don't state.

That's specifically why I said what I said above. I read the first post and had a sneaky suspicion that he doesn't have the minimum 8Gb of RAM. You get erratic behavior (and if you are unlucky, sudden catastrophic data loss) with insufficient RAM. I'm sure he'll learn soon enough. ;)

That's DDR2 ECC registered RAM them. You must have paid a disgusting amount of money for that much RAM. If you own that much RAM I'd sell it, buy well known supported hardware, and pocket the profit (and you WOULD make a profit).

Thanks cyberjok

I will keep in mind your advice for later.
At the moment I would like to know if there is a possible way to recover my data.

Can you post a debug file on your server?

What you mean by a debug file ? Log File in debug mode ?

Something similar to this ?
freenas-debug -a
more /var/tmp/
