Cannot create snapshots

I've recently built a computer for FreeNAS and had very
little problems installing thanks to the good documentation and
videos.

The only thing I could not do is get snapshots to work.

I would appreciate any advice.

Here's my hardware/software setup:

OS Version:
FreeBSD 8.2-Release-p2

Build:
FreeNAS-8.0.1-RC1-amd64 (7508)

HARDWARE:
Asus E35M1-I motherboard
8 GB memory
2 disks of 2TB each

CONFIGURATION:
Setup as ZFS Mirror.
No ZFS Datasets created.
Setup with only CIFS shares and configured
for Anonymous Access for all users (guest user only)
as instructed in the documentaion for "Sharing Configuration"
for "CIFS Shares"

You need to upgrade to the RELEASE version of 8.01. Lots of fixes and changes happened.
