I have been using FreeNAS for over 4 years on an Intel SS4200 NAS without many issues. Recently the system would stop sharing NFS and AFP shares and would not be accessible via HTTP. It would come back online and work properly with a reboot. I upgraded to 9.1.0 and it seemed to be working fine. Then I lost connection to the shares and HTTP again and couldn't get them back after rebooting. I decided to load a fresh install of 9.1.0 to my USB drive, but auto import of the ZFS share would not work. So I loaded 8.3.1 on the USB drive and now get the following error when trying to access via HTTP (also attached file with error messages). I bought a brand new USB drive and get the same error. What is going on? I'm hoping the ZFS pool (I believe it is RAID5 ZFS version 28) is OK and I can import as soon as I get FreeNAS working. Does this sound like a hardware issue? If so, if I install on a new system with the same 4 1.5 TB SATA HDD will I be able to import the zpool and save the data? I appreciate any help.

Yeah, that was an error that occurred in firefox/safari browsers that was fixed in 9.x. Do you have access to another web browser?

What sort of errors were you getting when trying to import the pool?

I reloaded the USB drive with 9.1.0 and got FreeNAS booted. Now I got the following error when I imported the zpool:

I also checked the status with -v and the files with permanent errors are all TimeMachine files, so that is OK. I just want to recover my other files. Is there a way to do this?

I'm not sure if the error message is accessible above in the attached file so here is a copy:

[root@freenas] ~# zpool status -v
pool: Carlos
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data
corruption. Applications may be affected.
action: Restore the file in question if possible. Otherwise restore the
entire pool from backup.
