Can I mount a dataset in a vm?

Installed a mint xfce vm so I could use filezilla to quicky transfer files from my remote server to my dataset/share. Not interested in setting up a auto sync option as most are zipped and I like to extract on the server side before transfering over to the share.

The only way to mount a dataset (or directory) in a VM is through one of the network sharing services. NFS is probably the simplest to set up.
