Seems like every time I call a call center it's the exact same (malaysian? sounding?) voice. Are they using a voice transformer or am I just unable to tell the difference in the foreign accent.
You're right, usually is. When I worked for Cisco we purchased a portion of Active Voice, specifically their Unified Messaging and Voice Mail only platforms which evolved into Cisco Unity and Unity Connect for Call Manager. As a liason engineer in Cisco working with new employees transitioning from AV into Cisco as well as being a UC Engineer Specialist within Cisco I spent much time at this BU in Seattle. Within the in-house digital studio for creating the new prompts for Unity she sat. Yes its VERY odd speaking to her for the first time hearing that voice you know so well from every voice mail you've pretty much ever listened to. She's a nice woman, and quite attractive as well :) I believe someone posted up her info. Its odd how Cisco, Nortel, Avaya being the big 3 in that space wanted the systems to be so much alike not only in sound but also menu and prompt framework in order to make selling into those existing customers easier.
