I have 4 1G ports. TrueNAS can use all, but I connect to shares over en01, my VMs use en04.

If my VM use an NFS share on TrueNAS. Is traffic physically moving through the switch?

I read somewhere that a bridge can only have one speed, i.e the slowest interface (1G) in my case. How do I create a virtual 10G(+?) switch between my VMs and TrueNAS, and also keep the two separate on the physical network?

I also have an sfp+ NIC, but no 10 G switch yet. I'd like to add the spf+ to the 10 G bridge, and hopefully seamlessly plug in the sfp+ and unplug the 1Gs at some point.

Thanks!

Bonus Q: How do I make sure TrueNAS is not using an interface, i.e.: If I want to try pfSense in a VM?
