Best way to backup Apple Timecapsule to zpool

So I tired mounting the timecapsule data as an CIFS share to freenas then copy over to a dataset. It is really slow. I know that its slow because Samba is single threaded. Does timecapsule run an NFS server? Or can I mount an AFP share to freenas?

I'm not sure on your question, but can I make a suggestion? Set up an AFP share on your freenas box and do time machine directly to it. Your time capsule is susceptible to bit rot. Your freenas box is not.
