I go read your documentation. After that, I can tell if it is the good way like I wish/want.

I am back
I have read deeply doc.
I think Rsync task are better for me.
I have some question about it :

1) For Master is push direction and for slave is pull direction?

2) I want sync the zpool of Master on the zpool of slave, Can I put the zpool of slave in max compression or the sync choice compression level of master?

3) How Rsync work, at each sync it compare all file or it do it with a database for know what have change on master?

4) When I schedule a sync each 15 minutes. On the first sync it cannot finnish to work, what it do(launch a parallel sync, queue the second sync or do nothing about second sync)?

5) Zvol can be synced?

6) the master is configured in push and the slave must be configured in pull. only one config is needed or you do twice?

7) If in point 6 you need twice config. I want set 15 minutes on twice freenas, how it synchronize time between us?

8) compress data during transfer is very efficient?

Thank you if you have an answers.

  1. Yes, if you consider Master to be live data and Slave to be backup.
  2. They are independent.
  3. Read the rsync documentation to understand how it operates: https://rsync.samba.org/
  4. Don't do that - it will launch a 2nd task and the result will not be what you want. Make the task disabled, but click the run-now button the first time. When the first run is complete, enable the schedule. Start with a long interval and monitor progress before adjusting to a shorter interval. Always err on the side of avoiding overlap.
  5. I don't think you can do this with rsync.
  6. You only need a scheduled task on one side.
  7. N/A
  8. It's generally not useful unless bandwidth is low and CPU power is high.

Hello,
I am setting RSYNC task.
And I have problem because I am not seeing data on backup side:
this task doing transfer 860 Kfiles, 65 KDir, 6.6 To. It is too many for FREENAS?

After doing a run now, it copying only 119 dir?
Why?

May look at
Man rsync

There is a --log-file flag
May add that as custom parameter when you use the GUI.
What other flags did you use?

All work, it was because an old rsync task work in background.
the new one with good config refuse to be launched.

for checking that I have use "ps ax | grep rsync"
and for killing it : "killall rsync"

I have launch the new one and all work.
The useless logfile too(it grow monstruously)...
