Hi All,
I am a linux non user, but a PC user for many years. I have successfully set up and am currently using a FreeNAS box v.686. I am trying to set up a version 8 box, and I am almost there, but I have a problem.
After booting the freeNAS machine, the freenas share shows up in windows explorer under Microsoft Windows network. I click on the + icon, and freenas2 server shows up under freenas2. When I double click on freenas server, a user name and password box pops up. I didn't set a user name and password for this machine, it should just open the folder/directory that I double clicked on.
Am I missing a setting somewhere? How do I access the share without this box popping up.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
mike
EDIT: I just figured it out! I needed to add users to the system.
DUH!
