I just started my journey with TrueNAS Core and it's been relatively smooth until now.
I've setup a Windows 10 VM with the intent to rip my dvd collection using MakeMKV. Windows doesn't seem to see the optical drives.
I ran the shell command "camcontrol devlist" and TrueNAS Core does see the optical drives.
From searching the forums I gather that I need to mount them but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I come from a Windows background and the forums had conflicting information.
Is there a general guide somewhere on the best way to mount an optical for use with a VM?
I'd greatly appreciate any help.
Below is a general layout of my setup.
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IX Hero
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz
RAM: 32 GB of Corsair DDR4
Drives: 5 4 TB HUS726040ALE614 and 3 4 TB WD Blacks running in Raidz3.
The drives are all connecting to an LSI 9211-8i with IT mode firmware.
Boot Drive: 1 TB Samsung nvme
Both optical drives are connecting to the motherboard SATA controller
