Has anoyone had any luck locating 16GB modules that work with this that arent on the HCL? I cant find ram for it anywhere

Those are registered...

For the thousandth time, LGA115x and Atom systems only work with unbuffered DIMMs. Unbuffered 16GB DIMMs are rare, insanely overpriced (enough to make a Xeon E5 cheaper) and unproven.

I don't know what the significance of the ".18FED" suffix is on the Crucial part number, but modules without it are available on Amazon:

US$90.49 for one, a pair for US$164.99.

OP wants 16GB DIMMs and these are priced at Unicorn Blood encased in Unobtanium levels. There's only one manufacturer for 16GB Unbuffered DIMMs. A Xeon E5 system with 64GB RAM is ~25% cheaper than an Avoton with 64GB RAM and has way more CPU power.

If you really need ITX size, the Xeon D should hit the market soon and support 4x16GB DDR4 RDIMMs in the same price range as the Xeon E5 or 4x32GB LRDIMMs as well - all in ITX.
