Any way I can get a browser handoff a download to a FreeNAS plugin?

I was thinking something like JDownloader, but JDownloader always seemed iffy to me. I use FF mainly, and would like the ability to start a DL in browser, but have FreeNAS handle the actual transfer. I've seen UGet, is that the only option? Seems it needs a patch to accept links from FF. It'd be a bonus if there is there one that interprets links and allows for downloading from sources like JDownloader. Don't need the automatic captcha stuff.

I'm not sure if this fits your use, but Chrome (and I think Safari) have options to copy a link as a curl command. You have to find the resource in the Developer Tools window > resource tab. This is far from automatic though.
