I have searched hi and low to no avail.
I want to allow only 1 user to access a share owned by another user.
So I go to the sharing tab, locate the private share click edit and the select advanced mode.
Under the advanced there is an "Allow List" field and when hovering over the "?" this info is displayed
"This option allows the users and groups that access a share to be specified. Users and groups are specified, delimited by commas. Groups are designated by a @ prefix."
Straight forward easy to understand, so I add the user to the allow list and apply.
Connect to AFP share with the user account that was added to allow list and the share mounts but no write access.
So I then add the same user to the "Read-write Access:" and still cant write.
I then mount the share with the owner account of the share, cmd I to get info on share.
Click on the plus to add user, add the user account that has been assigned to "Allow list"
Click on ok but get this error.
So even as the owner of the dataset/share doesnt have the permission.
