First: forgive me if this is the wrong forum. My understanding is that FreeNAS 9.3 will be the first release to officially support FreeNAS as an AD Domain Controller. If that's incorrect, please move this to the appropriate forum.

I'm playing around with using FreeNAS as an AD DC. It doesn't seem to create the SYSVOL or NETLOGON shares when provisioning a domain. I've tried from the GUI and the command line. I get the IPC share and I can create and use other shares (and add users, groups, change permissions, etc.). I'm pretty sure those shares are important in a Real Windows(TM) domain, and it appears from what I've read that Samba should create them as well.

I'm doing a bog standard config (as follows):
Realm: HOME.MINE
Domain: HOME
Role: active directory domain controller
DNS Backend: SAMBA_INTERNAL
DNS Forwarder: x.x.x.x
Domain Forest Level: 2003
Kerberos Realm: HOME (I created this under Directory Services/Kerberos Realm)

So, does anyone know if SYSVOL and NETLOGON should be created when provisioning a domain in FreeNAS 9.3? If so, we can dive deeper. If not, it would be good to know why...

Thanks.

Please file a bug report so that the AD DC maintainer can investigate. He does not generally read this forum. Thanks.
