What is the best method to access a network drive (SMB) from a Virtual Machine (windows) when both are on the same host server?
I got a windows VM running, and i noticed, that read/write is limited to 1GbE from the virtual NIC and that i even have traffic on the real Truenas NICs, displayed by Truenas dashboard. Is there any chance to increase the speed by a better configuration? (Only a higher read speed / read access would be needed) Or at least to increase the speed of the virtual NIC to 10 GbE?

Did you measure 1G or are you referring to the fact the virtual network imterface is an emulated 1G chipset? This will go as fast as the hardware allows, there is no inherent 1G limit.
