I`m kind of a new user to FreeNAS. About four months ago I took an old HP PC I had and modified it so I could use it as a server. It has a I5 processor (Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz)(12147MB), 8GB of RAM and I have two 1TB drives. I used the default settings when I set up the volume to use one disk as redundancy. I know this is a very small set up, but I have been using this as a media server and have had no issues with it at all. I added the Plex plugin and it works just fine. My question is, I would like to add a single 2TB drive to this But I have a question about this. I would like to add the extra memory to the existing volume that I already have. Can I do this or should I just create a new volume? I know I can add the device in the volume manager, but will this larger disk create an issue with my present set up(the two smaller 1TB drives)? And since there would be three drives, can redundancy still be achieved? Like I said, I am a newbie at using FreNAS and I have viewed many of the tutorials Regarding FreeNAS. Thank you..

It sounds as though you might be a bit confused about volume/pool configurations with FreeNAS.
We have an excellent source at this link for you to look over...
I think reading this would help you to gain some under standing.
Also please be aware of online tutorials for FreeNAS that are in a lot of cases severely outdated, try and get your information here.
