I'm playing wtih 9.1.0 on a test box prior to upgrading my primary NAS.

I was able to use the new ZFS Volume Manager to mirror a pair of 2TB drives successfully.

I'm left with the following drives on that NAS, 250GB 251GB and 750GB. I can't get the he volume manager offer anything but stripe for mixing and matching these three remaining drives. Under 8.3.0 mirroring I'm able to create a RAIDZ group for various sized drives. Can I still do that through the 9.1.0 GUI?

The new GUI will not allow you to create a non-optimal configuration.

So not a bug as it is expected behavior.

IMHO there are degrees of sub-optimal. Is mirroring a 250GB drive with a 251GB that bad?

Sounds like I still have the option to cobble sub-optimals together in command mode. If I do that do they show in the GUI? Will "Reporting" show its space and free space? Do I have to do something special to get it mounted after a reboot?
