A bit of a strange one this, I've been through the release notes a couple of times and I can't see any changes that would account for it.. Any views appreciated..
A few weeks ago I put a fresh FreeNAS install onto a Microserver N54l 16GB, HP NC365T NIC, 2x4TB HGST SATA drives, mirrored boot drives (2x 16GB SATA SSD via USB bridge).
I found SMB and FTP performance to be very poor at only ~10MByte/s, though I was confident the basic system was OK, verified using iperf (~95MByte/s) and dd.
TBH, I'd put off troubleshooting it as I had other stuff to do, but this morning I fired the machine up again, saw there was an update, thought 'what the heck why not' and slapped it on. I'm now getting the full 1Gbit/s throughput I'd expect on both SMB and FTP.
