Is anyone running 10TB drives in an ibm m1015 card? The compatibility matrix of the SAS 9211-8i lists a few 8TB as of 12/10/2016.

They're expensive, but not compared to drive bay realestate costs :) I'm looking at the seagate nas drives.

I'm sure someone is.

LSI SAS2/SAS3 controllers do not have any known limitations, so expect them to work with any 48-bit LBA drive. That means up to a few petabytes. Possibly even up to a hypothetical 64-bit LBA drive, assuming they're just using 64-bit data structures internally.

LSI SAS1 controllers are limited to 32-bit LBAs, so drives over 2.2TB get truncated.
