I have a FreeNAS Mini 2.0 with 32GB ECC RAM, with 4 Western Digital 4TB Red NAS Drives configured as two 4TB Mirrors. I'm running TrueNAS-12.0-U7.
One of my Mirrors is the system data-set and holds the user directories and jails. The other mirror is mapped several times into the jails and has several SMB shares.
In my scenario, all jails are shut down, and no files are open on any SMB shares.
Take a look at the blue drive lights below.
Why are my blue drive lights lit the way they are? Perhaps only the bottom one is on. Why is it lit? So if the other two are backlit from the led at the very bottom, why is there not even a faint glow in the top drive's blue light? Why doesn't the blue light make any of the green lights (other than the very bottom one) back glow at all? There are unlikely reasons, but I have a good point of view, and I'm a reasonably intelligent person and not often confused by the behavior of light. Does anyone out there have any "because FreeNAS" reasons they can share?
