After update to TrueNAS 12.0, I am experiencing some problems pointed in subject.
Ido not what is the origin of the problem because nothing seem to be wrong. When I reboot system it works fine for two days and after I get then same issue.
Can anyone give me some help?
Thanks

The alert I get is the following:
"New alerts:
* Pool RAIDZ2 state is DEGRADED: One or more devices has been removed by the administrator. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state.
The following devices are not healthy:
Disk 14287883434686960263 is REMOVED"

Furthermore the output of "smartctl -x /dev/ada2", which is the REMOVED disk is:
smartctl 7.2 2020-12-30 r5155 [FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p6 amd64] (local build)

So that's showing 2 errors at the disk level.

10 -- 51 00 08 00 00 fd 25 3f 60 40 00 Error: IDNF 8 sectors at LBA = 0xfd253f60 = 4247076704
And you see this one reported a bunch of times with Write errors to that block...

basically, you're just waiting until the system wants to write something and selects that block again, which then marks the disk as failed when the write fails.

Replace the disk, you'll be happier.

I am in no way endorsing this as a good idea, but you can avail yourself of this process if you want to do what you're suggesting:

Ultimately, if one block is bad on a disk, it's a good sign that more will soon follow, so don't waste too much time in preparing for replacement in the hope of saving a little money at the risk of losing your data.

Take the risks you're comfortable with.

I have a similar issue. How do you map "Disk 14287883434686960263" to a particular /dev/ada* device? I can't see the number in the message listed anywhere.

look at dmesg | grep -i cam

That should give you some hints.
