@ornias - great work there! I was wondering if you looked at https://github.com/munnerz/kube-plex for plex deployment
Currently there is a bug where we can't have duplicate Apps (names rather) with the Official chart, so currently i'm not actively looking into our plex solution.
However: Sadly enough the project you linked has reached vaporware status by now, so I'm definately not going to implement it AND be expected to provide support for it :P

and also how do we use Nvidia HW encoding etc?
Simply put:
Select the GUI during install.

If it isn't working, it might still be bugged due to some Nvidia specific issues (that are mostly caused by Nvidia themselves tbh)

@Kris Moore or @morganL

About those "HA Nodes":
Are we talking IX-Systems hardware with two controllers inside and one disk bay.
Or
Are we talking dual node HA with Gluster?

Just to be clear about it :)

Why should we be clear when it could be both?
Both will be supported except that Gluster really prefers 3 nodes for HA... one of them can be an arbiter node with much less data.

So no need to install Nvidia drivers and container runtime?

@Geek Baba Just the CUDA drivers should be enough :)
its already installed or need to be installed...asking because installing anything outside TrueNAS Core gui is never recommended, so trying to understand how it will work.

What I'm trying to say is:
If you currently have issues that may be one of the solutions.
If you don't then don't touch it.

right now i am looking for a good virtualization solution so i can setup my new virtualization lab. As hard as IX has worked on the BSD side they have been constantly let down by BSD. I wil continue to use TrueNAS as my storage play..but SCLAE, for me, has been performing perfectly while being based upon ZFS. This looks to be able to serve as my TN backup destination AND vm host at the same time..which makes it a perfect complement to TC..which will add to my storage stack offerings for my clients..:)

I think it's wrong to blame (Free)BSD as a project for this. BSD works pretty solid for iX and the support for compiling linux software is pretty decent.

It's mostly the (lack of) up-to-date third-party support, which forces iX to either figure out the wheel themselves (iocage for example) or work around it.

when it comes to virtualization..no it's libvirt..which is bsd. There's plenty of tickets on it in terms of vm's loosing connectivity internally which means you have to power cycle the vm to get things working again. Again..not IX's fault. libvirt has been a problem for years(as a google search will show). My preferred firewall and storage OS will continue be BSD...Until BSD can fix libvirt's issues my virtualization host will be SCALE.

I'd love to test this out, but myself and a few other users are unable to boot the system full with our HBAs attached, and the ticket hasn't seen any activity since submitted months ago :-/ https://jira.ixsystems.com/browse/NAS-108200
I don't like people lying about their issue not seeing activity for months, while William delayed the fix to 21.04 slightly more than a month ago.
It feels a bit entitled to go on the forums to get attention for your issue, while it was already flagged as being delayed to 21.04.

Just to be clear: I'm running H310 (which afaik is just a 9208 I8) without any issue.
If I read the issue right, it might be more likely related to partitioning than it is to your HBA itself....

No activity = no comments on the ticket, I pinged Alex asking for the status of the ticket back in December and got no response. I'm just simply looking for anything I can do to help push this further since it doesn't affect just me. If you think it's "entitled" to ask for an update to a ticket that was submitted months ago, with zero comments on it from team members (other than Bonnie when it was just submitted) IDK what to tell you dude... How else am I supposed to get an update? I work in IT and people ask for update on tickets all the time. It's a pretty standard practice.

You had status updates which where quite clear about it being in the backlog. Until someone has the time to actively start looking into your issue, there is nothing you can do besides researching the issue yourself. Adding research to a ticket is always appreciated.

Yes it's entitled, there are many people here that wait on tickets and we don't all hijack topics to get attention for our ticket. It's bad form, not "standard practice" and comming from IT you should definately know beter.

How could you get an update?
You could start by asking the person who moved your ticked to the 21.04 backlog at the end of january, inside the ticket. William is generally very responsive if asked a question directly!

I understand the frustration, but let's be clear that TrueNAS SCALE is still in Alpha stage and so there is a backlog of issues. TrueNAS CORE and Enterprise are in their production phases and get the priority.

If anyone does have the issue, it would be useful to know if this is specific to this LSI HBA.. or if it applies to Debian Bullseye in general. It seems unlikely to be SCALE specific, but if it is, we'd like to know. I'd recommend you are also specific about the specific LSI HBA firmware. Obviously, we'd prefer these issues were fixed. Thanks for your patience.

I would just like to say how much I look forward to running this later at home. I am stuck in an apartment with nowhere for a proper server at the moment, but once I have space going to set up a proper NAS/Virtualization box, and would love for it to be TN Scale.

I do have it installed to play with in a VM, but of course that's limited functionality compared to running it on bare-metal.
