Replacing Failed Disk in a Mirror'd Pool

I have a disk reporting to be failed in a pool that has the following setup:

(Pool Name)
Mirror
disk1
disk2
Mirror
disk3
disk4
Mirror
disk5
disk6
Mirror
disk7
disk8

If I put the failed disk into offline mode so that I can replace it with a new disk, will the data in this pool be lost? My understanding is that a mirror needs at least 2 disks in it. Any help would be appreciated.

No... depending on how it "failed" you may not be able to do that anyway... you can physically replace the disk, then use the replace option in the GUI to get the resilver started with the correct new disk.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that would be the case but thought it was best to seek confirmation from people who know FreeNAS a lot better than me.

The failed disk in the pool looks to be fine, has no checksums but i have had alerts saying the following "
* Device: /dev/hptnr [hpt_disk_2/8/1], 608 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors.
* Device: /dev/hptnr [hpt_disk_2/8/1], 608 Offline uncorrectable sectors."

so looking to replace it.
