Hi mates, i am using freenas 11.1 and i just wanna make a ZRAID1 with physical hard drives. What i did is I just connected disks via sata directly to motherboard and launchd FreeNAS 11.1 and i can not see these disks in section "Disks". What i have to push to make my disks be seen.

Motherboard: MS-7B79
Processor: Ryzen 5 3600

Why 11.1? It's EOL. It should not be used for new installations.

How many and what disks did you attach? Your boot disk(s) won't show up in the disks section.

Please post the output of camcontrol devlist and zpool status (type these commands in the FreeNAS shell)
Please copy the text and put it in

tags.

“MSI X470 Gaming Plus / Pro”

In addition to “use 11.3”, check that:

Board has a RAID function. This should be turned off, and set to plain AHCI.

Board uses a Realtek Ethernet chip, this is quite likely to cause issues. Get an add in card with a supported Intel Ethernet, see compatibility section on these boards. An i210t will work well and is inexpensive.

I’m assuming the board is what you had laying around. If you bought it for this purpose and can return it, consider doing that, getting an AsRock Rack instead, and using ECC memory.

Oh and turn off C6 / CoolNQuiet power states, thank us later.

Thank u for your support, mates. Actually I was too big noob in it. All I did is just launched via OracleVM my FreeNAS and was wondering why it doesn't detect real disks and only sees virtual (coz they were the only ones I could pick or create). After a lot of time I eventually decided to visit the guide in details and found official videos and channel of FreeNAS Team. And I was surprised that I had to do a lot of steps to install it properly in BIOS. I mean all steps where I created the installation flash then added SSD to my motherboard where I installed FreeNAS OS to, then removed it clearly for a proper moment not to lose dis thread between installation flash and SSD with OS installed. Took me really a lot of time to learn it. Even on the videos with detailed installation there wasn't clear a moment where they removed "Installation Media". Just guessed what it was "Installation flash or SSD with OS installed". In shortly it was very long experience where I tried a lot of combinations to install it :D And at last it works and takes one PC fully (I mean it works now as a NAS, btw very peculiar replacement of proper NAS cos FreeNAS as a software is free but still takes hardware u must have that costs as well as a proper NAS. But very gratified that it works after all :) Also can you tell me if I get it right, FreeNAS via OracleVM can not see any real physical disks conneted with SATA wire or whatever?

And forgot to ask u about connection with Mac IOS. In our local network all PC can see FreeNAS and get connection but Mac can't. And I shared my RAIDZ with 3 physical disks (dese disks weren't seen before so I asked u how to make em seen) and I put my login and password in (I type it 100% correctly cos I can get in from all other PC) and Mac can't get it. Although I shared my RAIDZ with SMB,NFS and AFP. New quest for me how to make it work :)))

Did you enable Zeroconf in the SMB service? Macs will need this to see FreeNAS. Remember to restart the SMB service after making a change to its configuration.
