I thought I understood shares, but this has bamboozled me. I set up a home server about a year ago and the shares are all working fine - exactly as expected. So I set up a Linux machine and try and connect it to what (I think) are the shares on Freenas. It turns out that the /mnt folder has completely different naming. I'm at a bit of a loss, and want to correct this but need to understand first. Any help most welcome!
All machines connect via the path nerdygirl/NerdHouse/Etc........
BUT
looking at the /mnt folder I see:
[root@nerdygirl] /mnt/HomePool# ls -al
total 71
drwxrwxr-x+ 5 graham wheel 6 May 22 2017 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 128 Dec 10 13:13 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 May 18 2017 .windows
drwxrwxr-x+ 14 root wheel 16 Dec 23 13:30 HeddaGobble/
drwxrwxr-x+ 2 graham wheel 3 May 18 2017 NerdHouse/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 2 May 22 2017 jails/
and all the folders and files are in HeddaGobble and NerdHouse is empty. HeddaGobble does NOT appear in the browsing path from any machine browsing the available shares.
