Hello, I have done something stupid and I hope I’ll be able to recover my data back after your help.

I basically upgraded mainboard, cpu and ram because the performance in data transfers was quite disappointing.
But I forgot to save FreeNAS system configuration before installing the new hardware.

My old setup was a Gigabyte GA-H97N, Intel i3-4130T, Crucial Ballistix 2x8gb DDR3 NON-ECC.

This has remained the same: 6x 6TB WD Red HD, 64gb USB with FreeNAS (FreeNAS-9.10.2-U2), Seasonic G-650.

Then I've installed the new hardware: ASRock E3C232D2I, Intel Xeon E3-1235Lv5, 2x 16gb Kingston DDR4 EEC RAM.

After it boots to the console setup this is the message it shows repeatedly:
Jun 18 18:30:27 motW collectd [2912]: check_create_dir: ‘var/db/collectd/rrd/motW.local’ exists but is not a directory!

I tried to install a fresh FreeNAS (FreeNAS-9.10.2-U4) to a new USB and it works.
The problem is that I’ve no idea how to recover the system configuration from the old USB to get back all my data.

Is there a way to solve this?

  • is your pool encryped?
  • can you import the pool from the storage menu?

What makes you think that the pool did not import? Post the output of zpool status within code tags.

I can't remember if I encrypted it or not.
No, I can't import the pool from storage menu.
Why can't you import the pool? What's the error?

Does the system boot with the old USB? Can you get to the GUI or at least cli access?
