Hi my first post after a little reading.
I am interested in using FreeNAS togther with AD in a three site WAN. Each site has a windows MS AD domain connected by LAN to LAN VPN or maybe permantent tunnels and my issue sis how wil the freeNAs react if one site goes down.
AD replication I understand and we can set FreeNas to sync or snap shot every tenminutes or so. If one site goes down the other (MS AD Authenication) will continue to work but will Free NAS failover as well or will some sort of manula intervention be required to provide access to the FreeNAS data (recently replicated with the main site - now down) so people can contune working.
Once the main site is back up how will free nas zfs-snapshot handle different files on the slaeves as oppsoed to the master?
Has anyone used FreeNAS in this sort of WAN config.
Any help or comments will be greatly appreciated. FreeNAS looks good.
Thanks
Stephen
