I updated my system some 3 days ago, and am now running FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201509282017.

When I tried to download a torrent via Transmission, I got this msg "Safari can't open the page 10.0.1.44:9091/transmission/web/#upload", because Safari can't connect to the server 10.0.1.44. The same msg comes up when I try to access the Plex plugin.

Prior to updating my system, both plugins worked perfectly.

When I check the installed plugins on the Web GUI, the service status for both plugins shows OFF.

This system was originally installed by my son, and I'm very much a Newbie to all this. My son is on vacation and unavailable to help.

Any help with providing some detailed steps to correct this situation would be very much appreciated.

on the jails command line you run "ping IP.of.your.computer"

you didn't replace the "IP.of.your.computer" part with your actual IP. But, it does look like your jail can at least route to the internet.

When on the Plugins > Installed tab, did you try enabling the plugins?

yes, several times. But no luck
can you make sure you can route to your computer by the ping command with your actual IP.
Also, in the transmission jail you can run the following to check if transmission is started
service transmission onestatus

Shell won't open now. I get this screen for few seconds, then it disappears. Should I reboot?

Reboot fixed the shell access. Your ping suggestion doesn't get any response.

Also, your second instruction I'm not sure how to go about this!!
"Also, in the transmission jail you can run the following to check if transmission is started
service transmission one status"

When I asked to ping an IP, I meant the internal IP of your computer.
the "service transmission transmission onestatus" command should be run in the jail userland, and so should the ping which you aren't doing in the screenshot.

This is my "attempts" to follow your other suggestion.

As I mentioned at the outset, I'm very much a Newbie here. Your patience and help are very much appreciated.

once again you're running those commands on the host not in the jail. I recommend you run 'jls' to identify your jail ids, then enter a jail with 'jexec # csh'

"jexec 2 csh" would enter you into the transmission jail. your jails don't have IPs listed which is likely the cause of them not being accessible.

this screen confirm Transmission isn't running. So with no IPs listed, where do I go from here?

On the monitor, which is connected directly to my NAS, the following msg. appears:

"Skipping IP update attempt subsequent to fatal dyndns server update error for alias, NAS.
This client should be stopped & corrected for configuration errors, and restarted..."

Is this info of any help in figuring out my problem(s)?

no, dynamic DNS is unrelated to jail networking.
